Went to the AMA Honda Super bikes races at Barber Motorsports Park today. Had a nice time, except motorcycles are harder to photograph than cars. They smaller and change direction faster.

A few weeks ago I go tired of trying to run new image editing apps like Lightroom and Aperture on my still useful, but woefully under-powered, G4 iMac. So, when my wife was out of town and I was left to my own devices and impulses, I ordered a new Macbook Pro.
I have it now for a few weeks and I love it! But, although Apple has great, slick, design, I find it a little sterile and cold at times. My new hardware needed a little something to make it mine. So I got a custom skin from http://skinit.com. Uploaded one my favorite photos, and viola, about a week later, I have cool new skin for my Macbook.
Maybe next time I will get some flames or racing stripes.
I rolled 100,000 miles on my car last weekend. The car, 1998 Volkswagen Passat, is the first new car I ever bought. I’ve had it for 10 years. A lot of things have changed since I rolled off with dealer’s lot with it. Here some highlights:

Just got back from the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. I made a few sound recordings of the cars, including the diesel powered Audi R10. If you haven’t heard the Audi R10, it’s because you can’t hear it. It is incredibly quiet, you mostly just hear the rushing of air going across it when it goes by.
Below is a recording of first the #1 and #2 Audi’s and then a couple of Porsche RS Spyders. Crank up the volume on your computer and listen to the difference.
